Sun seek in Dubai
“My top destination for some essential winter sun has got to be Dubai. Living and working there for over two years I got all too used to the near constant sun, the ease of the pace of life, just the glitz and the glamour of it all meaning London, despite all it’s infinite charms, can get a little too grey mid-winter. So, in December or January time, off I go to Dubai where massages, manis, pedis, glistening pools and of course, good friends, await me for a week of fuss-free fun.” Poppy Skinner, Editor
Alpine charm in Klosters
“If the whole traditional, cosy alpine resort thing is your, well, thing, then Klosters, in Switzerland, is the place for you. One of my fondest moments is always the celebrations on Christmas evening when we are wrapped up in a, ahem, horse drawn carriage and whisked into the woods to a candle lit service en plein air for hymns and gluhwein. If you like off-piste then the offering in the Davos-Klosters region is surprisingly good with a touch of royals spotting thrown in for good measure (the Windsors are big fans.) Going out means the Chesa Grischuna for some live music and then, for the particularly disco-prone, a last minute booty shake at the Casa Antica – a club that has had a dedicated following since the 50s. ” Emily Rampton, Copywriter
Seaside retreat on the Isle of Wight
“In my eyes, nothing beats boarding the ferry at Portsmouth and taking the short trip across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, otherwise known as home. Despite only being 6 miles away from the mainland, looking across that stretch of water you feel like you’re a million miles away from the stresses and strains of city life. With long walks on the beautiful beaches followed by a glass or two of mulled wine by the fire in the local pub (and not forgetting Mum’s cooking), it’s my ultimate R & R destination.” Georgie Haigh, Senior Copywriter
