1. Goodbye Ghesquiere

First and foremost is the story that has shocked, and indeed rocked, the entire fashion community. After 15 years at the brand, Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere, has decided to leave Balenciaga. Ghesquiere is credited as revolutionising the label, taking it to a whole new level of commercial credibility and is described by Vogue Editor Alexandra Schulman as having: ‘turned Balenciaga into a brand that is both admired by the fashion industry and  has made a real impact on the clothes we wear.’ A replacement has yet to be announced.
